A Masterpiece, Unbound - Perched above the Sunset Strip, Devlin represents one of the most refined expressions of contemporary Los Angeles residential architecture. Designed by McClean Design, the residence is less an object placed upon the Hollywood Hills than a carefully engineered platform for experiencing the city.
Its architecture is defined by a singular idea:
remove the boundary between house, landscape and horizon.
The approximately 12,000-square-foot residence stretches across its hillside site in a disciplined linear composition, opening toward extraordinary views across Los Angeles. Behind its private arrival sequence, the architecture progressively reveals water, landscape, glass and sky until the house appears to dissolve into the panorama.
This is the essence of Devlin.
Not simply luxury.
Controlled exposure to Los Angeles at architectural scale.
If the architecture investment is this rare — what would you be prepared to invest to secure it?

Devlin's importance lies in the relationship between topography, structure and view.
Rather than fighting the steep hillside, McClean Design used it to generate a strong horizontal architectural composition. The principal living and entertainment spaces are positioned to maximise the relationship with the garden, pool and city beyond, while the more private spaces occupy the upper level.
The result is a residence organised around a continuous progression:
arrival → architecture → landscape → water → horizon.
Its most extraordinary architectural gesture is the approximately 110-foot electronically operable glass façade. When opened, the lower level effectively loses its exterior wall, transforming the living environment into an extension of the terrace and landscape.
Few luxury residences make indoor-outdoor living such a fundamental architectural proposition.
At Devlin, the Los Angeles skyline is not decoration.
It is part of the architecture.
The residence frames the city from multiple interior and exterior positions, while the infinity-edge pool extends the horizontal composition toward the horizon.
Water, glass and landscape create a sequence of reflective surfaces that visually expand the property beyond its physical boundaries.
The architecture consequently achieves something particularly difficult in hillside residential design:
maximum privacy toward the street and maximum openness toward the view.
That duality is one of the project's defining strengths.
Devlin belongs to the lineage of Southern California modernism in which architecture becomes a mechanism for experiencing climate, landscape and light.
Yet its scale and engineering place it firmly within the international ultra-prime category.
The residence does not pursue grandeur through ornament.
Its luxury comes through proportion, precision, transparency and engineering.
The enormous operable façade is particularly significant because it is not merely a technological feature.
It is the physical expression of the project's architectural philosophy.
When the glass disappears, the house changes character.
The interior becomes exterior.
The terrace becomes living space.
The pool becomes part of the composition.
And Los Angeles becomes the final architectural surface.
Devlin's value extends beyond its square footage.
There are numerous large contemporary residences in Los Angeles.
Far fewer combine:
McClean Design authorship + a major Hollywood Hills site + approximately 12,000 SF + extraordinary views + monumental operable glazing + integrated water architecture + sophisticated indoor-outdoor planning.
That combination creates a narrow competitive set.
The property also possesses an established trophy-market record, having publicly transacted for approximately US$28.5 million in 2021.
At this level, replacement cost becomes increasingly relevant.
Land can be acquired.
Architecture can be commissioned.
Engineering can be reproduced.
But the particular combination of site, view, authorship, proportion and completed architectural maturity cannot easily be recreated.
That is the foundation of Devlin's scarcity premium.

KeyPrice estimate represents an architectural market positioning rather than a formal appraisal.
The range reflects the property's architectural authorship, exceptional hillside location, approximately 12,000-square-foot scale, panoramic Los Angeles setting, monumental operable façade, integrated pool and landscape, bespoke engineering and extreme scarcity of comparable architect-designed residences.
Devlin is not simply a large house overlooking Los Angeles.
It is a highly controlled architectural relationship with the city.
McClean Design has taken one of the most valuable commodities in Los Angeles — the view — and made it inseparable from the experience of the architecture.
The residence's greatest asset is therefore not its bedroom count, square footage or amenities.
It is its specificity.
The hillside cannot be moved.
The view cannot be manufactured.
The architectural proportions cannot be replicated without recreating the entire site.
And the 110-foot opening remains one of the project's defining moments: a piece of engineering that allows the house to disappear into its landscape.
That is architectural scarcity.

Negotiation Pressure:
Property grading removes emotion and replaces it with clear quality values and comparable insight — whether you're buying a property or building a portfolio.
This property has not received any grading assessments yet.
Community pricing insights show whether property is selling for more, less, or about the same as the asking price — so you don't overpay. For buyers, this means paying a fair price and avoiding regret later.
